I have recently come across REALStudio, which IMO is awesome, but only one thing pisses me off: With the trial version, when you build a program and run it via the EXE, it EXPIRES in 11 days and get this: if that wasn't enough, it ONLY runs for 5 minutes per start. So basically, you can create programs, but don't expect users to come back. Hell, you can't even SELL the programs you create with the trial bloatware.
Not much of a trial if you ask me. Good thing I stopped creating my program before starting to code!

That would sort of be the point: force you to buy it if you want to build programs you can sell. Not that I would.

Look at the old days when most competitors' ANSI C compilers cost between $700 to $1500, If it is a genuine effort to improve or add to the BASIC language and it's asking you for money for support then either use it or don't, it's not putting some iron fist on something that is not worth buying.

That's trialware or shareware, so you must give more your effort to purchase it to feel more powerful of that software. Like LB, you should have silver edition to run big program and gold edition to create standalone applications.
But, at least you have trial it.
