Hey all,
i thought i would write about an instance i had today, i needed Adobe Reader put on all my workstations so i need an MSI version off Adobe reader 9.3 right? well after going to the adobe site they said i had to sign up for a distribution license for enterprise environments and 15minutes later when i got the email saying it was all good, the link they gave me.... WAS TO AN EXE version of Adobe Reader! and 40mb in size!
Needless to say i was pissed off and wondered how i could get the msi from the installer, i tried 7zip and no go cos the achive was encrypted... turns out the simplest solution was the best one,
i'm using windows 7 so i ran the installer, and when it got to the welcome to adobe setup screen i went to
C:\users\ME\appdata\local\adobe\reader\adbreadr.msi and low and behold the adobe reader MSI installer file! works on ANY Windows OS! and AND ANDDDDD! only 3 F%^ing! MB!!!
so my dear readers, i pose this question:
Is adobe Screwing with us all by-
A) Pumping the setup file we download so full of bloatware crap that its not worth it.
B) Not providing pre-packaged MSI files for Windows Networked Environments.
C) Thinking they can do anything they want with the way they handle their software because they think we need it to function correctly.
