What was your first program (can be with help) and your reaction to it

Here's mine: I was staying over at my parents' friend's place (age 13-14), who was a software developer for Nokia, he was (and is) very well off and had computers everywhere, all of them up and running (literally was stacked on the walls). I got bored as hell, so I used to sneak in and just randomly look at the hardware lying around. He caught me, but didnt do anything he just went to one of the running computers, and said "come here". Here he taught me the basics of the basics, and then per instruction got me to write text in different colors in Pascal.

First Thought: HOLY $%#$ IM SUPER LEET HAXXOR lvl, etc etc :D

Second thought: wow this is hard as hell just to get some colored text, could do this faster with paper and some color pencils

I don't remember. It was a class on QuickBasic, or maybe MS-Basic from a book. I was between 14 and 17. It gets fuzzy after a couple decades.

My very first program was... in VB and I made a cute, little program that asked me my name and told me what course I was in, haha.
It was like:

Please enter your name:
Kia Ora Laura! You're enrolled in__________
Please press any key to exit:

I was so excited when it was working, hehe. Still love that feeling.

My first program was in Windows batch when I was 13, it was a simple quiz that asked you stuff about yourself. I even added if statements that would ask different questions based on previous yes or no answers. I learned how to do it from studying the batch files included in old DOS games I had.
