Hello all, I joined this forum because I have always had interest in programming and I think I will be majoring in some form of computer science or programming in college. I am 16 years old but I will be 17 in less than two weeks. Some interesting things about me is I am a very good saxophone player and I work as a ride operator at King's Island in Cincinnati if you have heard of it. Hope to have an enjoyable experience here!

Welcome aboard. 16-17 makes you pretty average, actually.

Welcome to the site.....One thing I like about the IT field is that it is always changing. I never seem to get bored.

16-17 is average? Average as in mean, median, or mode?

It's a little more complicated than that. First we take the median and find the inner-quartile range to identify any outliers. Once those are removed, we repeat the process using the average and standard deviation and remove any ages that are at least three standard deviations away from the mean. Once those steps are completed, we compare the mean and median. If they are more than 3 different, we do a visual inspection for potential outliers. Then we ignore all of that and report the mode.

Ah well that's good to know. I'm not a very experienced programmer but I'm trying to learn more. I had a website a long time ago so most of my experience is with HTML, CSS, and PHP.

very poetic response.

ive no idea if this makes mathimatical sense and dont have the will to check it. but at least i read it till the end.

knowing that the average is calculated by mode IS! good to know.</sarcasm>

It makes mathematical sense, but none of it but the first two and last sentences would be considered a statistically valid method of measuring an "average".
