I have a basic knowledge of parts of HTML, and my friend and I would like to learn how to program in Javascript, but we have lots of questions and do not know where we should begin. As we write this we're at the library looking at books but they are confusing and don't 'dumb it down' to get our understanding off the ground. Where would be a good place to begin our search?

There are some books that really support the newbies like you and I. I am currently reading the "html and css for dummies" book. You can find it in chapters or any other book store nearby, if not you can find it online. Good luck with your web programming and message me if you need anything.

i'm also new to javascript. I know how to program in C, and HTML isn't too difficult to grasp for me. Neither is javascript, conceptually, but I was just wondering where I could get a comprehensive list of all of the commands and capabilities of javascript (e.g. document.write) and etc. I want to know, basically, what those specific commands mean, and the flexibility I have (for example, there's document.write or getByElementId.innerHTML and writing that way).
