Hey, I'm new to this forum and to C++ programming. The project I'm working on is basically a simple web browser. When i run it on the computer it compiled on it works like a charm, but when I download and run it on a laptop it doesn't run. An error saying "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail," pops up on the screen. I really hope someone will be able to help me with this little problem.

i tried to open it but the VS keeps making this upgrading error, why dont you try to release the project, from project menu> -your project name- properties >Configuration manager> choose release and press ok, try it maybe it will work.

Well I just changed it to release and then sent it though the compiler. Well here is the link to the download:

Well I Just re-compiled the program one more time, and instead of using 4shared.com I brought the program over to the laptop using a USB drive. I unzipped it and ran the program, and it works like a charm on the laptop! Thanks for the advice!

i am sorry but my VS seems to be older version than yours -vs 2005- and it's unable to convert the project :blushing:
