So you have your completely amazing hosting website built, your credit card processing setup, your SSL prepared, but you hit a snag, WHERE ARE YOUR MEMBERS!?
Below, I have prepared the 10 best ways to get people to host their websites through you!
#1. Create a website that is easily accessible to all walks of life, skill levels, and ideas.
You want to make sure that your website is open to all, in order to get any and everyone you possibly can. DO NOT, under any circumstances, use Jargon. By this, I don't mean that you can't say PHP, but don't amp up the key wording.
#2. Give the best bang for the buck!
This is as simple as it gets.. Your potential customers aren't going to choose your hosting company if you charge the same price for 1GB of hosting as the competition does for 100GB. Right? Do your research, find out who the competition is, and always find your niche!
#3. Feel of the site.
Determine the crowd of people you would like to target. Are you wanting to host for everyone, gamers, executives? Decide who your audience is and go after it. Design your website to cater to them. Show them that you can host gaming forums with tons of templates or even show executives that you host websites for other high stakes businessmen.
#4. Show them you care!
Everyone wants to know you are there for them, so why shouldn't their hosting company be? Make sure that you have the ability to offer support to all of your customers at least 6 out of the 7 days of the week, and no less than the average 8-10 hour day. Personally, my belief is that most coders do their work at night and they want to have around the clock support.
#5. Give Examples!
When you go to invest in a product that could potentially change the course of your financial future, you aren't going to want to pick a company to work with, Blindfolded. Right? So don't make your customers. Show them some examples of websites which are hosted on your account. This will help ensure your customers that your servers are up and running, with no issues.
#6. Why you?
Out of all the web hosting companies in the world, why would a client want to pick you? Are you able to offer additional services for free? Are you able to offer Plesk or CPanel? These are some of the perks that a potential customer is going to look for when browsing the net for a new host.
#7. Blog.
Blogging will tell your customers a little about your life, your company, your dreams, and your servers information. If these clients come to your website and have the opportunity to read about you and your company, most likely (If their serious about what they're doing), they will read your blog.
#8. Provide ways for your customers to receive the fastest server for the best price.
When I originally started looking for web hosting, I had no idea what I was looking for. I picked the cheapest route and ended up paying $5 a month for server that was about as worth while as a treadmill. Anyways, what I am trying to say is that it doesn't matter if you make more money from sharing 1,000 customers on a single server, what matters is that your clients are going to love your company if you love them back. Don't overload your servers!
#9. Get Feedback!
Make sure that your customers have a way to give feedback, even before they become official "customers". Every little bit of input that your visitors give you will be beneficial to your business. Take the information and expand your vertical horizons.
#10. Lay it on the line.
Start your business with the knowledge that you will succeed. Do everything in your power to show the customer that you are the absolute best person for their hosting, design, programming job! Tell them you appreciate them and make sure that you show it. After all, they are the reason you're in business!
I would appreciate if you all would spread this word around the internet! Thank you all for reading!
