will this encrypt data to and from a tomcat server (SSL keytool)?

I'm using this guide Apache Tomcat 4 - SSL Configuration HOW-TO, if I follow it up to the point where it helps "Edit the Tomcat Configuration File", after that I stopped. Will the connection between the client and the webserver be encrypted? provided I use the https url to connect to teh website?
