I'm using HeidiSQL to manage my databases.

Any tips and tricks that I can use to help me be more efficient when I'm managing tables, creating databases and adding content? I'm new to database management.

(please exclude phpmyadmin)??

Most people use phpmyadmin (I know, you said exclude it). That said, I'd probably use SQuirreL SQL Client.

I use HeidiSQL too, and I really like it. I've used MySQLs own tools before, but I like HeidiSQL better. But I don't know of any shortcuts as you ask about. have you tried their forum?
