Hello folks, :)
Yep, it's me. I'm not sure I shall fit in here .. everyone seems very serious with noses to their various grindstones. All busy using languages I've never heard of.
I'm a long-time Fortran programmer on IBM 360/370's. Then along came PC's and I discovered QuickBasic, Visual Basic 5/6, Delphi, and more recently when I turned to programming for fun - IBasic and it's successor Creative basic.
I've also used the more powerful Emergence Basic for a few projects.
Basic! .. I can hear the spluttering from here. Yep, good 'ol Basic. How I wish I could have got my hands on that during the 40 years of Engineering, Maths and Statistics work I did for the Electricity, Railway and Education industries I worked in prior to retirement.
Oh! didn't I mention also working on a Honeywell 800 using AutoMath (a Fortran look-alike) in the late 50's ? Hmm .. that gives me around 50 years experience .. ;)
It might also make me the oldest person around here at 73 .. :w00t:
So whether I've got anything useful to contribute, we'll have to see ..
all the best,:)
Graham
Oh no! .. Not another one.

Welcome aboard! It's been a while since I had to touch any fortran code (about 17 years?), so I can kind of identify. You've got a few years on me, but good to have you with us :)
