Hi guys.
I am interested in building apps using Flex. I read that knowledge of ActionScript is required. Is anything besides that required and does knowing Flash can hel me out.:)

Thank you

Knowledge of XML would probably be useful. Your ActionScript knowledge should be pretty strong -- it probably has more in common with traditional HTML DOM than Flash's typical use of ActionScript. You should get intimate with the Flex API docs.

Flash knowledge might help, but I don't imagine it would help much. I'm no Flash expert though, so I can't say for sure. :)

Looking up Flex I find that it's a programming toolkit for developing web applications where "Developers write Object Oriented code using the ActionScript 3, MXML, and CSS languages." Also

Quote

"The Flex source code (.mxml and .as files) is compiled into Flash bytecode (.swf) that is executed at the client side by the ActionScript Virtual Machine in Flash Player or Adobe AIR."

Seems like knowing AC3 is pretty essential. Flash in general should be helpful
