hey everyone
listen i am a first year at college
and i study cis (computer information system )
and i want to be certified in sql and asp
but i dont know what should i learn sql 2005 or 2008 ?
what is the best to learn first ??? and should i learn asp or sql first
please help me ?

SQL Server 2005 and 2008 have minimal differences. The order shouldn't matter.

Are you learning ASP or ASP.NET? They are very different.

but i asked someone and he told me that i should start with sql 2005
cuz 2008 is with mouse !!!

What???

SQL Server is just a database server. You interact with it primarily through SQL statements. Initial creation of a database is likely to be done via a mouse in either one, but 99% of your work with it is just basic SQL.

The only major difference is the compatibility mode.

I'm saying it doesn't matter. There is very little difference between them from a programmer's perspective. If you want a cert, I'd get it in 2008.
