Hi I'm new to this forum...and new to programming as well, learned just the basics.

I know this might sound noob asking this, obviously 'cause I'm new to programming but here goes:

I don't know where to go next after learning the basics. If I'm going for Windows applications using C++, what's the next step after the basics..? where can i actually use my c++ basic skills?

C++ is a very powerful language. We have an engineer here who uses C++ for hydrology calculations and programs. I personally program in C# and use asp.net. I think you need to find some real world problems and start coding. :)
