I think it's about time I introduce myself here.
I've been using this forum for a few months now for help and I realized today that I sort of just appeared and started making all of these crazy demands for help! Didn't even bother to say hi, how RUDE of me!
I've only been programming for a short while, even though I stuck my toe in when I was younger.
Before the 7th grade I got a copy of the Borland C++ Compiler, fumbled around and eventually gave up.
In the 9th grade I took an HTML course. That REALLY got me into the idea of programming.
I played around with a few languages over the years, never really picking anything up and sticking to it.
I worked with some Java, Javascript, but again, nothing stuck.
I signed up for a C++ class to kind of force myself into learning it.
The class was very successful, thanks greatly to the forum members here when I was having a problem.
The person I encountered the most while using C++ was WingedPanther. MANY thanks.
After that I was asked to tutor a boy in Programming since I was the resident computer guy. (Of course all computer guys know everything about programming in every language..)
This was all GUI drag and drop game making with Multimedia Fusion2 it did include some extremely well hidden scripting, but all syntactically English.
After that class, the next level was VB.NET. I didn't know anything about VB.NET, but I was able to teach myself as I tutored. Doing this for a while turned VB.NET into my best language so far.
I am right at the end of my first College VB.NET class, and while I did struggle, I believe that to be a part of the process and I learned quite a bit.
I actually had a lot of recent help on that from Deadlock
A friend of mine suggested transitioning to C# and has offered to help me learn with small projects for his website in C# using ASP.NET and SQL
Anyways, now that I've given you my programming resume...
I'm 22 (currently, obviously..) and a military brat.
I've lived in:
South Carolina
Florida
Alabama
Germany
Greece
England
Oklahoma
Russia
Laos
all in that order. currently I am living in Vientiane, Laos. It's in Southeast Asia. No one ever seems to know anything about it or have heard about it when I mention it.
I like to go to the gym, and am currently doing Stronglifts 5x5
http://www.stronglifts.com
I lost over 85 Pounds in the last year, going from 275 pounds to 191 pounds and I'm still going!
I like to learn Languages and can speak conversationally and read German and Russian.
I can understand a few other European Languages and can read Greek.
I can speak and understand a bit of Lao and Thai but not read, yet.
I am thinking of joining the military. I scored high on their test, but they said, "Come back when you're not fat."
Now that I'm closer to their goal, I can consider it again.
They have programmer spots too..
I know this is long, and I'll go ahead and stop now

Hi Anglina, welcome to codecall!
Your intro is great I feel I know you so much more now. Also I can't believe you've lived in so many countries at only 22!
I'm a PHP programmer and am learning C++ so hopefully I can learn a few things from you too :)
