Hi all,

I'm new to this forum so I hope my question is in the right place. I'm not a programmer (I hope I'm allowed to post here) but I've worked with programmers. I hope somebody can shed some light on my case.

I am the owner of a webshop in The Netherlands and we use different shipping companies (UPS, TNT, DHL and a Dutch company) to ship our goods to our customers (B2C). For shipping we use the webbased shipping applications of UPS, TNT and DHL.

When someone places an order, we collect shipping info in a MySQL database that runs on our own server. However we have to enter the shipping data manually in the webbased shipping applications.

I'd like to have a script that takes the shipping address and other mandatory data from my MySQL database when needed and enters it in the correct text fields of the shipping application. For this script I'd like to hire a programmer to write the script(s).

My question is: is this dobale or am I talking nonsense here? If it is possible, what information does the programmer need from the shipping companies to be able to write such a script?

If anyone has suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Many thanks in advance for your help.

A forum member sent me a PM and told me the above is doable. Will post a job request in the Freelance section now with more details.

To the forum member who sent the PM: sorry I can't reply to your PM because I don't have 10 forum posts yet.

Thanks!

There is also a site called odesk, where you can hire overseas s/w contractors for projects such as this.

Of course I'd give preference to the freelance section here if you can find someone interested - much simpler to work with someone locally.
