Over time I've noticed that shell scripting as well as Linux posts in general are treated as an unwanted stepchild here on the forum.
At different times, various motivated people attempt to bring the Linux section back to life with a flurry of posts and or tutorials, but replies are few and far between, so they move on.

I find this ironic as there are quite a few Linux users here on the forum... go figure

I don't think it's unwanted, as much as it doesn't create the same buzz as other tutorials.

I get the same feeling with C++ and C questions I post (but WingedPanther has a point-it probably isn't as you think).

You'll be surprised on the breadth of lacking of answers on forum related websites. There just are not too many people that would be on a forum like this that script. Not picking on this place, but there are more appropriate audiences for certain things (IE: The distribution/software-specific forums or upstream websites) that people may choose.

I get most of my Linux info off the Ubuntu forums. Nothing against the folks here, just going where the info is.
