Nice list!
I was reading, just today, xx ways to promote your website on sitepoint (I can't remember the number, some odd number like 67).
Some things I do that work well:
1) Ping ping-o-matic each new blog post. Make this automatic so you need not worry about it. Ping-o-matic will ping all the big guys like Technorati.
2) Submit to social network/bookmarking services. There are services out there that let you do this with the click of a button.
3) Don't be afraid to link to others. If they find your link to them, they may link you back (especially if you and they are using pingback/trackback).
4) Posting on forums. If you can offer a excellent content, people will want to learn more about you and click on your signature link.
5) Blog Comment Posting. Same as above except with blog comments. I use it and it gives me link-backs but I rarely ever see much traffic generated from it.
There are many more methods that work as well. If you really get into promotion and SEO you'll learn from experience what works and what doesn't and I suggest you go with that. If you really want to learn what works or not for you and your site you'll need to analyze traffic. I look at each of my sites at least once per day and for new sites often multiple times using some kind of real traffic tracking software (I'm currently stuck on Piwik).
Also, Traffic doesn't happen over-night... Give it time!
