I have tired to learn programming myself, and I even took a useless course once (in the biggest university in my country),I know the syntax of few programming languages and still I cant do nothing with it.
Now what im looking for is someone who have time to go step by step with me(expt for the basics that i can learn alone i need the actuale programming),I herd someone saying he learnd programming from a friend I think its one of the good ways to learn, I don’t care paying as long as its reasonable amount .
Now my question is how do you find some one like this? In my country theirs a lot of people how knows programming .
Where dose a programmer hangs out? Should I ask in a forum? How do you find such a person how wants and can teach programming one on one and get some good cash for it?
looking for a teacher

Any of us here can help you if you have specific questions. I am even sure a few of us can help you do what your looking for.
Where does a programmer hang out?
Well seeing as we are normal people who have normal lives/activities just like the rest of the world I would assume you would find us with the rest of the world. There is not a specific place we would hang out unless there is an interesting convention or speech we wish to attend that geek related.
What kind of language are you looking at learning?

If other programmers are like me they prob. learnt by just playing around with a language and seeing what you could do with it.
If your having a hard time learning a programming language i would reccomend buying a Programming book like 'Java for Dummies' most books will go through alot of the theory such as methods and classes first then give u examples to work on.
also i would look online for tuts and videos on youtube these can be very helpful, and if you get stuck on something just come back here and im sure someone will help you.

the problem of finding a teacher from this place is payment, will he have a paypal acount?will he have skype(mic+headfones)? if someone wants to teach me for free that's cool too.
and about languages know the syntax of(good):p php, java. syntax of (familiar):c,lisp, javascript and a little action script. but actual programming...in that department i did very little ,im learning object oriented in the university ,but that wont get me vary far as far as i can see(trust me on that one).
i guessed you wont have any special way that i could find a private not so expansive teacher that will teach me actual programming methods...its like asking for help in finding a girlfriend via forum, and thats easier then to find a teacher
now finding a girlfriend that would teach me programming is an almost impossible to find, and even the guy from the song "code monky"isnt that mad
but if anyone has some kind of way to help me
oh and i have a few pdfs about programin havnt been too helpfull
and i did had a look around youtube (how do you think i mannged to learn all the syntex so easy)
now im kinda on desprte approach ,im asking for guidance from the community I trust there are people with more experience then me that could guide me to help .

First, you have to answer a question - what do you want to learn programming for?
To get a job? For fun?
From this sentence...
... I conclude programming is not for you.
Sad but true, only about 1% of people can make a real programmer. Syntax is not a problem - almost anyone can learn it. The real problem is a special way of thinking and imagination enabling to build larger things from smaller ones, ability to think in abstract terms, and probably also some other unnamed engineering/mathematical skills... Some people have it, most don't. It is probably not possible or extremely hard to learn these.
You may buy a "Programming for Dummies" book and you will probably be able to write some extremely simplistic programs, but you still won't learn programming.

Surely, the fact he wrote that sentence, and is on this forum at all shows an enthusiasm to learn programming. I'm a big believer that if you have enough passion and enthusiasm to do something, you can learn to, and the best way for you to do it.
Learning the syntax does not require lots of help from a community like this - learning the best way to tackle problems and think about them does.
If you have enough enthusiasm to come here and to learn, as long as you stick to advice and keep the enthusiasm that brought you here to learn, then I'm think you have a good shot, no matter what stats say.

The way I learned programming was to try coding something, and ask for help when I got stuck. You may want to try creating a Chess board in Java, or something like that. As you get stuck, you ask for help and it becomes something we can all enjoy.

Hi echo1.
I'm agree with JCoder.
i had learned program language from middle school starting with gw-basic, q-basic, pascal, c, cpp. there i established my own images about oo programming while learning cpp.
i think you should learn about software engineering besides o-o methodology to become a real programmer and a real designer of web, i mean the protocols such as soa, rmi, corba if you want make a web based system.
And also you should know about describing virtual world. it's another skill of engineer.
So all what i wanna say is i can teach you when i have time for you for free if you intend to learn.
My skype massagener id is 'dragon_kcn', the same as the id of this site.
if you want to talk with me, please send me a massage via skype. i'm always on there.
Regards.
Cholnam, Kim
