[I was told by Yahoo Answers that ruby scripts are good for this sort of thing. This was originally posted in the C++ forum, so I'm going to report it here]

"I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right forum. I am not a programmer, so I am unsure if this is possible, and if it were, how much would it cost to write?

I'm looking for a program, of someone to write a program that will automatically tag mp3 files. preferably from an excel, word, or pdf file. right now, we open the mp3 properties, switch to th excel sheet copy the title, paste, switch, copy speaker name, then paste again. The process is very pain staking and time consuming. If this process could be automated it would save us huge amounts of time.

The other thing, ( again, need a program, of someone to write like a batch file or something) copying that same information from the excel, or word doc and pasting it into an XML file. The XML set up is basically as follows:

<Title></title?>
<Speaker></Speaker>
<other></other>
<etc..><etc../>

This is another time consuming process involving a lot of cutting and pasting.

Obviously, if this is possible, I would explain in further detail the numbering system and how things would need to be arranged.

Any help would be very, very appreciated!

Thanks!"
