Hello all. My name is Daniel and I am 19 and very interested in programming. I currently have been taking Java since grade 11, and I took Visual Basic programming in grade 10. Currently, I am planning on going to college for Computer Programming, so it is my main focus.
Hey

I enjoy Java myself, got the basics down. I did VB in grade 10 and it was fun :) Now the only issue I actually have is looking for another program to learn. I am learning Java in school, but I want to self-teach myself if possible another language, something like Python , C++, or anything really. I just don't know what I should pick/test to see if I like it.
I have spent some time with Ruby, practicing with the in-site programming tutorial thing for Ruby on Rails, but no where near do I know anything about it. I hear Python is a good language to start with, and same with BASIC, but I just really don't know what to learn.

Welcome aboard! I like C++ myself, but Lazarus is also nice.

My recommendations are C or Python, depending on if you prefer high-level programming or low-level programming.
