Let's find out the most popular programming language on CodeCall! I'd like to get everyone voting on this, I'll keep it open for a month so we can find out what's most popular as of September - October 10th.
What you do is simple, you simply vote for all the programming languages above that you are proficiently familiar with. This doesn't mean your favorite (though if the only one you know IS your favorite then... hey), and as far as knowledge of the language it doesn't mean that you need to be super 1337 Pwnzer at the language, but also don't list it if you know how to make Hello World... and that's it. The idea would be that you can write at least a trivial multi-file program with the language that goes through several control structures, functions, and/or objects as necessitated by the language, and you can read and understand what is going on in the source code. I'm intentionally trying to leave this open, I think you can judge best when you think you know the language enough to be comfortable using it to perform calculations and other tasks.
If you want some kind of "solid idea" of what should be knowing a language, then if you think you can build this program using your chosen language, then you can safely assume you "know" it for the purposes of this survey. Of course, if your language of choice is a GUI-centric language, it can use a GUI. :)
I'm crazy like this, so sorry if I'm always posting crappy threads. Also I realize there isn't enough languages up there, the poll doesn't give me the chance to put in as many as I want. If you know a language not listed, please just comment them in. :)

Nice idea.
Based on the link you provided I believe I could knock something together in pyhton, c# and c++. I nearly put php down as well, but I'd probably only be able to do it by referring back to books.
As an aside, I've just had a look at some of the other problems on that site. Much more interesting than the Euler Project problems I've been doing :)

If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line.
But, it better work this time.

Yes, I was directed to that site by chili5, great place to do warm-up and find fun programming problems. :)

Voted. I believe there is an easier way to determine which language on CC is the most popular. If you look at the thread and post count for each programming sections you'll see the winner. :)

Good poll! Based on what I believe, PHP will win but it looks like C/C++ is winning!

I did PHP, C/C++ and Pascal. I probably should have voted for Java as well.

I did C/C++, Python and VB-Style. I don't feel that I have the right to add Assembly, Java, C# and Pascal to the list, as I don't use them much and really don't feel "proficiently" comfortable with them. Maybe later, though... :D

Voted C, Java and Asm. The task link looks pretty effing easy and I think I could stumble through that with languages I didn't even know.

Oh crap, I didn't see that link! I could definitely do that in C#, Java and Pascal.. Not sure about ASM.. Any way to revote? :D

@relapse & marwex89: I agree, the example is far too easy. I wanted you guys to judge ON YOUR OWN whether or not you felt you knew the language. I suppose a better thing would have been to say "If you can program ANY of the programs on the UVa Online Judge site..." but since I don't know all of the puzzles they offer I don't know if I could do it or not. I only put the example program as a general idea, not a solid limit. Any of us could probably stumble through using any language to write that with proper docs, but assuming you DIDN'T have access to docs, which languages would you choose?

I've actually got about 6 languages I could have chosen, but you only listed a few :) I don't consider ASP.NET a "language", since it's coded in another .NET lang.
