If you were going to make a virus, what language would you make it with? What considerations would you uh consider? How would you prevent it from being detected by antivirus software and wtf would your virus do on d-day?

Depends on what you want it to do. The dangerous ones are typically written in C/C++ or assembly language; you can also do some damage with VBScript due to Windows' inherently terrible security. I spent a week working at my high school to remove .MS32DLL.dll.vbs off of the computers there - it spread through flash drives, which students use quite often to store their work on.
sudo rm -rf /

I use to know one that ran through drives as well, when running it copies itself into literally every directory, did some weird stuff with iframes and activeX.
It depends what you are trying to accomplish really, if you want everybody to visit a site, or hurt their computer, or what.

As an April Fool's joke I once wrote a virus that disabled web browsers, Microsoft Office, and the ability to change any of your desktop settings or even log off. Then it sets your desktop background to some random gay porn picture and hides all your icons. My friend found it hilarious until he realized that he couldn't change anything. Then he beat me.

How did you find the gay porn? :P
Do you still have the code?

My roommate, who knows everything about porn, was the one who found the picture for me. Yes, I have the code. Will I share it, though...
