A spammer's worst nightmare
It's been proposed a few times and voted down. The "live threads" is the closest we're likely to implement right now. The feeling was that for programming conversations, we want them recorded for the benefit of others.
Of course, we can always vote again :)

I'd like a version that actually records conversations and turns them into threads when completed. This way, everyone can benefit from the conversation.

Unless were talking about private topics lol... meebo records but you would have to go and look it up yourself... I do not like it much so far though.
