I need money to go towards my books for this trimester which add up to about $500, I was wondering what sort of money am I looking at if I decide to put my Macintosh up for sale.

It's about 2-3 years old, very good nick, absolutely nothing wrong with the internal components, never had anything wrong with it. I'd say the only thing wrong with the exterior are a few superficial scratches although it does have a chip on the edge, very similar to this: Posted Image which a lot of Macs have due to the bump above the screen to stop the screen touching the keyboard. I suppose this would lower the value quite a bit.

Here are some specs:
  • 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
  • Version 10.4.11
  • Runs Tiger
  • 80 GB HDD
  • Will be selling with charger, pink case (probably won't include if selling to a guy unless he has a sister/girlfriend and what not), remote.
  • I have Photoshop so could maybe include that? Just a thought.

Would probably be around $800 NZD (About $500 USD) I'm guessing? Will post some pictures if you guys would like to take a closer look.
Thanks. :)

Wow, $500 is cheap! Take a look at the Mac refurb store and try to find one with similar stats: Refurbished Mac - Apple Store (U.S.)

Then lower your price by about $200 or so. I'd say that would be a fair estimate.

Jordan one question, are you trolling me?

I dunno what trolling is and no, $1,349 is not cheap. $500 is cheap for a Mac which I stated previously.

I have seen off brands for a ton cheaper.

I saw a 7gb memory, 500gb hdd, 17 lcd, dvdrw, cdrw, comes with the keyboard and moutse as well. I saw that for $800 it was a desktop but the specs are tons better for a lot less.

Macs are pricey and they hold onto their value for some reason. They are like Honda cars while all other brands lose value. I am also interested in buying if for $500. Can you post some pictures?

Have received a lot of interest about this (got an offer yesterday for about $900), am definitely selling, best offer gets it. Might be putting up on TradeMe (trademe.co.nz) or eBay only if any of you/other consumers are interested. :)
