xXHalfSliceXx told me via text this morning that Google crashed because of the numerous search results at the time of Michael Jackson's death. I found an article about it here: http://news.icm.ac.u...n’s-death/2322/
Looks like it wasn't just limited to Google but Twitter and other major news sites.
I have mixed feelings about his death. He was a great star back in the 80s but started to fall out in the 90s. By the new millennium he became extremely creepy. He often reminded me of Charlie from the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp.
It was still shocking to hear of his death. Interesting that it is on the same day as another 70s star, Farrah Fawcett.
Jackson's Death caused Twitter and Google to Crash

My view on jackson pre death, just watch Carlos mencias standup about michael.

Last night I had my graduation. My friend told me MJ was dead. It was a shock. He was a great singer, dancer and artist for sure. I also have mixed feeling. It was a shock because he said he would see everyone in July this year at London. I would like to hear his great voice again, but.... oh well
at the same time, I think he is mentally ill too....

Google crashed? In that article it says that it slowed down, not that it crashed.

Well it's a saying from other people. But I would say it's quite true. When million of people were on Google search at the same time, searching for the same or similar keyboard, the performance slowed down a lot. And I think at some point, it did end up with 500 or something like that?? Maybe just a few seconds or maybe they meant "huge slow speed".

Twitter crashed, Google just got slow. 50,000 tweets about MJ is an impressive number to handle.

It was a storm when people heard of MJ's death. I meant I trust my friend when he said "John you know MJ is dead?". But I guess if I am at home, I would go on Google too....
