Hello all

My name is Natalie and I live in England.

Languages I know are php and Javascript, and I'm also thinking about learning C++, though I want to improve on my php and Javascript skills first.

I used to be really into programming as kid (that was BASIC back then lol) but then I got a civil engineering degree and stopped dabbling with programming. I've been trying to get back to it on and off for a few years now, mostly doing php/Javascript/MySQL/CSS for hobby websites but I have recently decided to give it a proper shot as I am unhappy in my day job (I am an AutoCAD technician in the transport planning industry).

While I don't expect to be able to leave my day job anytime soon, my mid-term plan (a few years?) is to become a pro programmer.

I've been lurking around the forum for a while now and thought it was time to join!

Web programming to start with and possibly software programming later on. I'm particularly interested in both the educational and scientific research fields.

Hey NatalieM, welcome to CodeCall! Nice intro and I think a Programming Job would be much better than an AutoCAD technician. :)

Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything.

Thanks everybody, really enjoying it. Been mostly posting on the Javascript forum but I have been lurking a lot on the C++ one and learning quite a lot!
