I tried to install Linux in my new machine and it is not installing properly. I have tried different versions like Ubuntu, xubuntu etc. It is not installing. I want to know is there something I must do to successfully install it in my machine. Inform me .....

just boot from the livecd and select install.. should work fine.

check your specs if you dont have enough ram it could not install and freeze and the works.

Generally you download your distro, burn it to a CD/DVD and boot to that media. A lot of modern distros have a live CD and you need to double click an icon on the desktop to initiate installation.

There is no inbuilt problem that stops HP pavillion from installing Linux. There most probably was a problem with the CD or your OS copy. Why don't you try reinstalling from a different set of CD.
