Currently, on narrow screens (800 px wide), the right-hand menu bar overlaps the center section, making it VERY hard to use some of the menu links, etc.

I thought I had these fixed. Which screen in particular do you see that at?

Pretty much all of them. I got it on this screen by crunching the width way down on my big monitor. Display Modes, in particular, gets hidden pretty quickly.

I generally design my sites with a minimum width of 1024px in mind, I design for the majority not minority. But with saying that, this site does overlap which I can see your point there.
