Anyone ever try setting up a linux media center? I've been toying with the idea for a few days and im torn between | Mythbuntu and LinuxMCE
Plus would it be worth the time and effort required to get the drivers for most bleeding edge hardware (which most media centers tend to use) to work?
Linux Media Center?

I created a VLC one a long time ago but I was using an xbox 360 as the extender. In the end I created a vmware to XP and used some Windows program (that converts videos to the only format xbox supports, .wmv, on the fly). Mythbuntu looks pretty neat though!

I'm going to use mine as a DVR, blue-ray dvd player, and to play all the videos / tv shows I download.

Not yet. But once I get the rest of my media center integrated I will probably get one.

Nice! Is your family rich (you are always getting new toys)?

Nope. I buy all my toys. Essentially if I have money in my bank account I have to use that for college. If I dont have any money, the state will pay for it. So I waste my money on toys so the state can pay for my college.
