Well, I was having this problem sometime ago.. but no I changed my HDD, so it's not much of a big deal.. but how can I fix this, if it does it again..
I had GRUB installed, and it was giving me this error after the POST screen:

GRUB Loading stage1.5.
 
GRUB loading, please wait...

And it just stayed like that forever, I tried the fixmbr command from the XP repair disk.. but didn't fix anything.

Didn't it restart or show any error #?

Do you actually have any partitions? It could hang there if you deleted all of your partitions.

Of course.. I used to have Win XP and Ubuntu.

Did you edit the menu.lst in the GRUB folder?

Most probably you messed with a parameter and now it's not working...

Yeah most probably you messed some parameter. Is there any recovery mode?

If it's not even booting.. how can you boot in recovery mode?

did you have 2 partitions with windows and then installed linux on one of the windows partitions?
