I found and now use Cygwin on my Windows Machine. I get all of the console commands of my Linux box and it is free. Just curious to know if you guys use Cygwin on your windows machines?

I use cygwin. I've also used blackbox as an alternative to explorer as a shell for windows so that I have a unix look to my box. Thats for when I HAVE to run windows for whatever reason for work.

But, I think cygwin is one of those tools thats kinda nice (required) to have if you're mixing environments. So I have linux, windows xp, cygwin, solaris, as my available OS's for desktop work.

I've never heard of blackbox. I'll have to check this out. You use Solaris as a desktop OS?

How do you like the Sun Box? Do you use it on a laptop?

Oh, that would be cool, I wish. LOL.

I work for a university and our budget isn't wonderful. It's a sunblade 1000. better than nothing, but it allows us to do a lot of our systems work that we need to do.

How come you can't run it on a laptop? I'm betting it doesn't have the needed drivers?

Oh, I wasn't meaning that it couldn't be run on a laptop, I was just meaning that I wasn't running it on a laptop. In other words, I wish they gave me a laptop to run it on. I suppose I could run it on my laptop. But no, I'm running it on sun desktop architecture.

Never used Cygwin, seems like a neat tool for Windows though. :D
