I installed Freespire 2.0.3 a few minutes ago (I have no internet on it as it is on VMware) and I was browsing it.... and I noticed this program and it seems to be a firewall. I thought that Linux was powerful enough. Is this firewall needed?
I know that everything is hackable.. I'm just asking though...

Hi, Yes I did see this on the website:
http://www.fs-security.com/
And I too have the same question, I thought that Linux was very, very safe. To say the truth I myself am surprised about this.. maybe that shows that, that OS is not secure enough on it's own and maybe we should not use it...

Linux is hackable just like everything else. I believe there are many firewall options for Linux so choose whatever you like.

IPCOP is one. You could also just use ipTables.
I think Squid is one also.
