The main differences between the different *buntu's are primary the desktop environment. Ubuntu uses GNOME, Kubuntu uses KDE and Xubuntu uses XFCE. Edubuntu, Gobuntu and Ubuntu Studio are different though. Edutbuntu are used as an educational Linux distributions, Gobuntu aims on making the entire distribution completely free, and Ubuntu Studio is aimed on multimedia creation.

Is it because of the softwares installed or what? What makes it Educational?

and Ubuntu Studio is aimed on multimedia creation.

Again.. what makes it? Does it render graphics faster? or because of the programs that come installed with it?

There's a big difference between all of desktop environments. I think you should read more about them separetely.

It's both the software and how the operating system is build. The Edubuntu-team has worked together with teachers from all over the world to build the perfect operating system for education. It's also very easy to use, so teachers with limited knowledge in computing can easily set up computers for use in education.

Why? Isn't Ubuntu Free too?
When I said free, I wasn't thinking about the costs. Ubuntu (especially 7.04) has been criticized for using application with non-free source (closed-source) Gobuntu aims on making everything free (freely available for everyone / open-source)

Ubuntu Studio's kernel has been modified heavily for fast and good audio-, video and graphics-processing. It also comes with a lot of multimedia-applications.
