I've downloaded the ISO of each and burned them to a CD. I put the CD in and nothing happens. Windows XP continues to load as if the CD was not even in the machine. Can someone help me move along with the installation of these Linuxes? How do I get the CDs to boot?
How do I install Ubuntu or Kubuntu?

I had the same problem, could do one of two things-
1. hit which ever key is your BOOT menu (F10 for me but could be something else look it up in your manual.) now make sure you have boot cd-rom drive first in the order of disks when booting.
2- But what i found is there is an installer (believe has a yellow logo i forgot name because ATM i'm at school) >.< *sorry* in the .ISO file, that i clicked and when i rebooted it ran Ubuntu, you might have to Right click and click "search" to get into the .ISO file.
Hope this helped =D.

Like F1B3R said, you probably don't have CD as your first boot option (or at least before your HD). Check your BIOS and enable this.
