I have a dell E1505 laptop, high spec. I recently tried to install Ubuntu dual boot, and it just will not boot. I have tried burning the ISO a couple of times, with new downloads, in case it was corrupt but the check sums were correct.
I am told it just doesn't like new hardware-could this be the case? Would I be better off with something like Fedora?

Is the CD booting to install or are you finishing install and then the system will not boot?

The CD will not boot to install. This is why I made sure the check sum was correct, and tried downloading and burning a new copy just in case.
