VLC - For Wmplayer, or the MS Windows version of the VLC Player.

XAMPP(linux) - for WAMP - silly

If we use Wine won't the windows application run on linux?

Wine doesn't have full support for all Windows-features. Therefore will not all Windows applications run correctly. Some will may not run at all; and some will miss some functionality.

These are still not an exact clone of the windows programs.. but their functionality is nearly the same.

I prefer Pidgin over aMSN.
