When was the last time you thought something like "Oh! it would have been so nice if this was there in linux..!" Well, to tell you the truth linux has a lot more to offer than the geek stufff and the rarely used eye candy. Today, ill talk about five softwares I use on windows as well as linux.
Foxit Reader
With foxit reader, your pdf experience can go to better speedier heights. Foxit reader strips down all the bloats from Adobe reader, so we can have a smooth reading experience.
Launchy
Launchy is a custom application launcher. You can initiate it with hotkeys and then type in your application name or a few unique characters from the name adn you get a list of softwares with those characters.
Tweetdeck
Adobe air brings a whole new platform of air applications to your system. I use Tweetdeck and Readair on linux with Adobe Air.Most of them are web-integrations and are far better than the prism based desktop integrations available in the repositories.
DC++
DC++ is a network application which creates peer based networks for file sharing across clients. DC++ is a very powerful software and is champion in it's league.
Opera
Opera is an optimized web browser available for windows. It can enhance your web experience with its built in functionalities. Recently, it has also introduced a turbo mode which can speed up web-browing considerably.

FireFox
Pidgin
Adobe Reader
Star Office
Putty
Limewire
etc. etc.
With Wine you can run most Windows applications and then there are special commercial compilations of Wine such as Crossover that allows even more (such as Office 2007).
