Im a new prospect in the programming world and am looking forward to soak up the knowledge offered on this site. I feel as if a college education is not quite enough to get the real perks of programming, and that is the reason i joined. so.....thanks for the hearty welcome.

Welcome aboard! A college education will teach you a lot of basics in a lot of areas. It gives you a broad base to work from. When you start working on a project that measures its code on ten thousand, a hundred thousand, or a million lines of code, however, is when the point of many of those classes becomes apparent. Experience is the best teacher.
