hey there,

I am creating a blog about programming called Coding Thoughts. I was wondering if some of you could review it for content and suggest any improvements, any topics I could write about, any corrections. Please look at the debugging post especially. Thanks a bunch

Hi flycoder. I found your webpage via google and to be honest, right now it doesn't say anything revolutionary. I can see it as having some useful info for someone in a freshman coding class, but that's about it. Something that might be useful is to indicate which languages you have in mind when you talk about debugging, for example. C++, Java, Delphi, ASP, ColdFusion, and PHP all have slightly different common errors and "gotchas" to watch out for. I noticed you never mentioned using a debugger to trace through your code.

I'm sure our blogs here can give you a LOT of ideas. You could also read my personal blog. Oh, and welcome aboard!

thanx for your comments. I have realized that I didn't mention anything about using a debugger. I plan to write a post on this later. You are right, this post really doesn't say anything revolutionary, as the saying goes "There is nothing new under the sun." Instead I tried to give more general tips and hints that lead to a mindset that is needed to become a good programmer. I realize I do not have much to offer the more experienced programmers, which is why I visit sites like yours. Thanx again, I appreciate your thoughtful, intelligent comments.

Howdy! I won't google your site, sorry. You should make ten posts and then post your site review in the proper place (the site review section) with a link (which requires 10 posts). Sorry to be so harsh but your first post is a bit spamish.

On a different note... You may want to check out our programming blog here: CodeCall Programming Forum - Blog Entries - there are some great posts! Also, if you become an active member and make posts regularly on your blog we'll be happy to fetch your RSS feed and post your new blog entries in the news section on here, linking back to your site (these are also featured on the main site).

I am sorry for not following procedure. My intention was not to be spammy. I have been checking out the blogs on this site, they are very informative.
