I need to turn off most the sounds in the betfair poker software, the only sound I want to be able to hear is the unique sound when it is my turn to make an action plus the sound warning me when I'm running out of time. All the other sounds, such as the noises the cards and chips make I want gone.
I emailed betfair helpdesk, they said you can only have all the sounds on or all the sounds off, so they were pretty useless. I figured it can't be that hard can it to delete some of the sounds I don't want? I've seen people make modifications to programmes before, just wondering if anyone could give me a helping hand on how to go about it?
The poker software can be downloaded on their website (I can't post links yet but if you type betfair into google it's the first link or www . betfair . com ), betfair are a well established organisation so don't think you need to worry about viruses and stuff. Just click poker, then download if you need the software.
Thanks for reading, let me know what you think, or if you have any questions!
And good rep on offer once I get some! :)

It depends on HOW the sounds are implemented. If they are distributed as separate sound files, you can probably replace them with empty sound files. On the other hand, if they are contained in the file itself, you may have to decompile the program to change the behavior (which is almost guaranteed to be a violation of the EULA).

Thanks Winged Panther. I had a look in Betfair's folders and subfolders and couldn't see anything that looked like a sound file, so think it might be contained in the file itself. Would it be quite difficult to decompile the programme to make these necessary changes, forgetting for now about breaking any software agreements?

That depends on how familiar you are with Assembly.

Not familiar at all, as you might have guessed.
Anyone fancy taking this project on, might be quite straight forward for someone who knows what they are doing and a satisfying, fun and learning exercise. All I really need is step by step instructions on how to do it then I can just do it myself. I can send a small reward too!

If you have a reward amount in mind, you could always post it in the freelance section.
