I am new to programming and i need some help here. I am in the process of signing up for classes in may and i got some questions.

1: My goal is to build a automated hotel reservation script which i can then sell or offer free to customers. The idea is that the script will also have integrated to it an invoice system, booking keeping system, hotel management etc...
But for now i will start with just the reservation system and then later while i grow my knowledge i will integrate the others.

My question is: Given my plans and my ideas

1: Which language is most relevant for me to do this with?
2: Which language i should put my focus on?
3: Where should i start (remember am very new but i am willing to learn and be excellent at it).

By the way, am a web designer build on tutorials it took me a year looking at tutorials and having a dream to be a web designer.

I finally got some understanding and knowledge about basic html, a little php and i know joomla pretty good. This is my website benjaminonlineservices.com

3. Forums are a good place to learn. Other than that, Tizag has some nice tutorials.
You will need to understand MySQL as well.
