Does anyone here play Total War games? I personally loved my Rome Total War Greek campaign, and I am currently playing an interesting Byzantium campaign in Medieval II Total War. I haven’t bought the Empire Total War yet though, but I will probably buy it soon.

Whups, wrong thread!

Well if you are interested in historical empire management and real time 3D battles with thousands of men, I recommend trying these games out. More info about them can be found here:

By the way that "Whups, wrong thread!" sentence in my first post isn`t something that was meant to be here.

I think WP added it, for some reason or another. That game looks good! I might give it a try. Thanks for the post!

I love these games. I'm finding that Empire is very buggy though.

This was a problem with Medieval II Total War, too at first. So if you are thinking of buying one of these games it is a good idea to watch for patches and download them, if you feel that there are some problems in the game. However at least with Medieval II Total War the problems weren`t very catastrophic.

The biggest problem that I had with Medieval II Total War was that the AI was very passive at a difficulty level that otherwise would have been perfect for me. However either the patches that I downloaded or the fact that I increased battle difficulty, (not campaign difficulty), corrected this problem for me. And so I have now been able to enjoy a campaign where, the AI also offers me resistance.

So, just tonight my Byzantine campaign included battles against Hungarians, Venice and the Turks. These factions surround me from every direction so it was a bloody (and sweaty) night to defend my empire against all of these enemies.

The Total War games combine turn based empire management with real time 3D battles (thousands of men), in a historical setting. Medieval II Total War for example has a time period from 1080 to 1530, Empire Total War focuses on the 18th century etc.

yea, the games are dope, i really wanna get medieval II, i have rome and empire. but besides that i have a technical question for you guys. When i run empire, the unit animations seem very....blocky, kinda like a marion on the original nintendo, i am sure it is not intended to be that, so im not sure whether its a software issure or a video card issue, maybe my video card is not good enough, or there is some aliasing issue. For all you graphical gurus, can you help me out?
