Hey CC.
I am wondering, if it's possible to "hack" into someone else computer, I had earlier problem with my steam account that got hijacked, as matter fact I found a backdoor inside my computer so. I tracked down the bastards IP(the "mastermind"). So now wondering, I don't know when or how I got the backdoor, well I like to leave that question open as well. So back to track is it possible to reach someones computer via brute force or to manipulate ports and go down simple to applications using the net?
I have only few attempts of Trojan and backdoor hacking, I had to do since my sisters "msn" got hacked...so lured the person with a fake msn login and made it send him a picture containing malware => I has access, it allowed me to go through his computer like nothing.
tl;dr - Possible to get revenge without having something implanted inside his/her(obviously I don't know the current gender...) computer.
Thanks for listening !

That depends a lot on what OS they are running and what public services they have enabled.

And by services, it also means what firewall software is being run. Worms are proof that it's possible to get in, but you have to understand the weaknesses of the OS an common applications on it.

I have no knowledge for Windows. All of my efforts go toward protecting (and thus knowing) Linux exploits.

My conclusion will be, I need to get 100% familiar with the NT environment and then hopefully get some basic exploit knowledge...or something like that.

Why not trying to read a book on hacking windows or something? Do you know what OS he/she is running?

Book about hacking?
I never done that, I started out as a script kidde to a developer(not really) and exploiter(never cared) however, I want to know if it were possible to hack without external tools.
Also I know what he/she is using as operating system. I got response from the computer, It's called I won't tell - NT 6.0 build 5531, I presume this is Windows and currently using NT version 6.0 = vista?
