Well, lets just say hypothetically that I learn Java inside and out. What job opportunities could be open for me to check into?
Just curious, I'm still a highschool student and many people told me to start learning java, because its "easy" and a high - level language. Would it be worth my time to spend the remaining 6 months of my senior year learning Java programming? are there any entry level jobs in it?
Java job opportunities?

Java is easy to pickup but hard to master. Just like most languages (spoken and programming). Anyone who tells you java is easy through and through hasnt got a clue what they are talking about.
You'd probably need a degree in Computer Science to have a real good shot at getting into a junior development role. Especially if your only going to have 6 months experience when your going for interviews.
However, there are lots of opportunities out there for graduate developers so dont let not having a CS degree hamper your aims.
Whatever you decide to do, if you enjoy programming, continue coding!!!

Job opportunities will depend a lot on where you are and what kind of job you want. "Started learning programming 6 months ago" doesn't make for a good resume in the US without some impressive programs as part of your portfolio.

I agree with you, but as it stands java really does not want to work for me.. havn't even got a program to run.. followed guides and I don't see why its not recognizing javac as an internal file. I was doing visual basic just fine, but its not powerful enough to do some of the things i want. Not to mension everything in visual basic is handed to you, i want more of a challenge. Java is proving to be more of a match for me then I thought. Feel like slappin the person that told me java was "easy to learn". I'm determined, i need to make this work.. and when it does i will make a post to confirm it and celebrate lolol.
