Periodically, even randomly, my back button stops working in FireFox 3.0.6. I haven't installed a new theme or any additional Add-ons. Hitting the backspace button still works as it should and takes me to the previous page. When I click the Recent Pages drop down I see my history, however, I also see the page I am on twice.

I've noticed this happening when making a quick-reply, AJAX post. Is something wrong in this release concerning AJAX requests and the back button? Anyone having a similar problem with this version?

I also noticed that, but with backspace button I have no problems. Use backspace ;]

By the way, have you posted this question to Firefox support?

Nope. Wasn't sure if it was just me or a common bug.

You shouldn't be afraid, your not alone !
My flash videos are bugged and the back button firefox...
When I use firefox for a while and go back and forward too often it will stop respond for a while then work. Memory usage will be over 500mb !
Also whenever I close a tab containing a flash movie it will not close properly, it will run in the background !

Maybe it is time to convert to Chrome?

I don't think it is time yet, until there is greater support and maybe some extensions.

I just tried to convert to Chrome. It seems not all JavaScript works on it - even the WYSIWYG on forums doesn't work. The lack of add-ons just makes it worse.

Opera extensions are horrible as well, although the browser isn't bad.

I'm not experiencing this problem, even after quick-reply.

If I didn't do a lot of web development, I'd happily use Chrome. As it is, Chrome is just an interesting toy.

I don't have any issues with quick reply and the back button. However, the backspace button doesn't go back. I would have no issue using Chrome if there was native Linux support, although living without Foxmarks would be kind of difficult.
