"I had Internet Explorer 7 and had no trouble. I switched over to IE 8 and I'm having problems. "

Why you are using IE I don't understand? You don't care about your security on the internet?

Read the thread. Nobody on this Earth uses Internet Explorer 1 anymore.

Why are you using IE at all? You don't care about your security on the internet?

I tried to install IE 6 on my computer, it didn't work. The reason for this, because it's Windows Vista, anyway around this?

Also, IE has many issues and had a major security bug a while back. So I would suggest you use an uninstalling program to uninstall IE8, it worked for me. Then install an alternative such as Firefox, Opera, Safari or Chrome. Your choice mate :)

If you read the site that Xav gave, it states clearly that IE6 does not work on Vista:

Multiple IE doesn't work on Windows Vista. Follow the progress of running Internet Explorer 6 natively on Windows Vista here!

That doesn't say that IE6 doesn't work on Vista. It says that Multiple IE, the program that installs the various older versions of IE, doesn't work on Vista.

If you read through the article, it also says that some guy has worked around it to get IE6 running on Vista. HTML and CSS show fine, JS is very buggy.
