Hi

Do you know of any way to extract a single frame from a divx compressed avi file and turn it into a .bmp picture on linux? I saw somewhere something like a getframe() function, but it was in some Windows library. I tried to find something useful in MPlayer source but its like looking for a needle in a forest.

Maybe there is some opensource program I could use?

One way would be to pause the player and get a screenshot.
