hey guys, so I am studying for my A+ cert right now, I am using A+ Cert for dummies, and I have read like 220 pages so far, well into the book. I know some of the data is a little old, but ITS A NEW BOOK! I dont mean new as in I just got it, I mean new as in a current A+ book.

I can tell its got old data though, it talks about the new age pentium 2 processors, and how l2 cache is on the motherboard and how l3 will come out soon, all old stuff.

My question is, is this a good book to be reading? Does the A+ Cert still ask these lame questions? Or am I going to walk into a test with questions about quad core processors, only to fail because I have filled my head with the questions ans answers from 1989...

Who has this cert? When did you take it? What are some questions on it? What book did you read?

This book covers ComTIA A+ exams 220-601, 220-602, 220-603, 220-604

Looks like a good book then. What is 220-603 and 220-604 then? Future versions of the test? If so, how does the book know what to cover?

Wow, I saw three CompTIA certs in the top 10. I didn't think their value was worth that much.

I've read security+, network+ and linux+ books for school but never went and took the tests. I think Network+ and Linux+ would be the best to have of the three although all three seem like a great combination. Are you going to get certs outside of CompTIA though?

I have heard that some people think CompTIA certs are to simple and easy to cheat.

I haven't used the book for long time but when I had some few chapter views I liked it, you should consider it valuable :P
