Hi everyone, my name is Dave.

I'm a self taught programmer who's been at it off and on since I was 14. I'm on here mostly to ask those technical questions my friends (or most anyone I know) can't answer. You see, my friends don't program for fun, so they only know what they need to, and not everything. :-D

I enjoy teaching, gaming, snowball fights, etc.

See you all on the forums.

I guess that depends on which kind of know you mean. I know more languages than I use, so my practical knowledge is a bit behind my text book knowledge. :-D

I've been using C++ a lot lately, and I'm not planning on switching to anything else any time soon.

I got started when I was 14 with QBasic, after studying and using that for a few weeks I tired of it and learned C++. I next thought it best to learn the major differences between C and C++. After that I started learning web development, so at the moment I know... hmm...

Here's a list of all the languages I've thoroughly studied:
QBasic
C / C++ / C#
Java
Common Lisp
HTML / CSS

Languages I've studied or at least glanced at:
PHP
Java Script
Assembly
Visual Basic

Here's the important part. These are the languages I use regularly:
C++
HTML / CSS

So, I just realized that I might sound like I'm showing off or something, but I assure you all I'm not, and I promise I'm not going to pretend to be something I'm not.

You aren't showing off, just listing your experiences. There are a few other people on this forum with a similar list of languages.

Well that's good to know. I've had people out right tell me I was lying when I spouted off that list to them, especially since I don't have any "official" training, or schooling.
