i put my personal website in my profile
social networks are the best online marketing tool you can find, for example in facebook you have access to each member network and then choosing the appropriate ad. unlike the usual ip address thingy you have actual prove that this user is from a specific network even if he is in diffrent country

I use social networks as anybody would want to use the quality of social network traffic, as it relates to the opportunity for sales conversions. It just doesn't seem to work much. But for me if social marketing gets you good links it is great. If people spread word of mouth about your product to their contacts or friends that is great again.

Yea it's a great way to get traffic. I use them on my blogs and will continue to do so because it's VERY simple and VERY effective.

I remember reading a blog entry the other day, I think it was on Copyblogger, about how twitter can help promote your business and how some top CEO's are using it for different purposes. I'm sure the same thing goes for sites. Once you join and start following people, people you don't even know will start following you and start checking out your site. And you can micro-blog site announcements to get people to visit your site, say for a new article that you just posted.

It's a good idea to include your site and bio in as many sites as you can. Create an eBay profile, start a facebook, and any of the hundreds of social media sites out there. The reason being that these sites are so dynamic and people will find you just by sharing interests or searching for tags that relate to you.
You can market with social media in many ways, by posting links to your articles and products, starting conversation that can be continued in some capacity on your site, and by networking with others in your niche.
